9SEMBILU tells the story of 9 women farmers of Kendeng: Sukinah, Giyem, Patmi, Karsupi, Ambarwati, Deni, Sutini, Surani and Ngadinah, leading a protest against the government to prevent factories being built on their farm land. They answer to the calling of mother earth, the one who has been providing for them for generations. Now, they must fight so that the next generation can still feel the kindness of mother earth's air, water and soil.

This is a story of pain, suffering and loss of a fight that is still being fought. It will leave you with nothing less than a broken heart and the biggest respect for the 9 true living heroes, the bravest women in real life.
